Daniel Jelen, originally from London, England, went to high school at Wanstead High School and attended College at Eastham in London. Upon completing his secular studies, he learned in Yeshivas Yad HaLevi for three years and then came to Israel to learn in Yeshivas Marbeh Torah in Bnei Brak for two years. Upon returning to England, he continued learning in Yad HaLevi for another five-years, while working in Kashrus as a side-job.
In 1997 Daniel returned to Israel and resumed his studies at Marbeh Torah until 2002, during which time he learned the art of sofrus (to be a Jewish scribe) under the tutelage of Rabbi Dovid Singer, eventually earning ordination from Mishmeres HaStam in Bnei Brak. Since 2002, Daniel has been a valued member of Kollel Sha'are Shlomo in Kiriyat Sefer, where he spends part of his day in learning.
In addition, for the past twelve years he has had a learning session together with an important Rav in Bnei Brak, learning hilchos sofrus.
Over the years, Daniel has written and sold Mezzuzas, Megilas Esther, Pitum HaKetores and Aishes Chayil, as well as several scrolls of Nevi'im for the reading of the Haftorah in shul. Now, in addition to to his writing, he is offering his work decorated with beautiful custom borders, hand-painted by noted Israeli artists who specialize in Judaic artwork.
