The Digital News Journalist plays a major role in the day-to-day execution of i24NEWS’s online, social media and interactive TV news strategy, working to ensure the content is consistently updated and impactful for our viewers.
The role combines acute attention to detail, rapid response, editorial judgment, creativity, and consistent day-to-day execution.
We are looking for a passionate digital producer to research, plan, write and edit digital content within a 24/7 news gathering operation.
The successful candidate should be a skilled writer and researcher, with an eye for details and an understanding of the special requirements of web news writing.
Full-time position (including weekend shifts)
Responsibilities include:
• Writing news reports and breaking news alerts for the web and other digital media platforms while ensuring editorial quality and compliance with journalistic standards
• Editing i24NEWS' video content to be posted to digital platforms
• Producing and publishing new content in a creative way
• Using social media for better presence by publishing new content and increasing reader engagement and retention
The ideal candidate:
* Native level English speaker
* Impeccable writing and editing skills in English - required
* Has an educational background in journalism, communications, or a related field
* Can adapt writing styles accordingly to a range of digital platforms
* Is an avid news consumer with a nose for breaking stories and has fresh ideas for original content
* Has knowledge of both national and international current events, and a thorough understanding of the Israel and Middle East geopolitical sphere
* Is an excellent multi-tasker who works well under pressure, to tight deadlines and accurately responds to editorial instructions.
