Deputy Civil Engineer

Job Summary

Innovation: Africa is looking to hire an experienced Deputy Civil Engineer to be responsible for the construction management, supervision, design review and oversight of all iA off-grid solar water systems. The Deputy Civil Engineer will serve as a technical point person for the construction and supervision, assist in the training the local teams and communicate directly with the local contractors in Africa to plan and optimize the system to match the community’s needs on the ground.

The position is based in Herzliya, Israel and will require trips to Africa for the training of local staff and oversight of installations.

Compensation

Commensurate with experience.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a major in Structural Engineering or Construction management- Required
• Have at least 5 years of work experience in project supervision and construction.
• Proven experience working in projects in rural Africa a benefit.

• High-level reading, writing and speaking proficiency in English, mother-tongue level is preferred.

• Knowledge of off-grid water systems – an advantage
• Knowledge of solar systems - an advantage
