Houlihan Lokey’s Financial and Valuation Advisory Practice based in Tel Aviv is primarily focused on offering the following services:
- Portfolio Valuation: Preparing valuation reports utilized for financial reporting, tax, litigation and regulatory purposes
- Valuation for Transaction-related Purposes: Independent valuation provided to key stakeholders in transaction processes including management, independent board of directors, lenders, trustees and administrators
- Fairness Opinions: The provision of fairness opinions on various M&A and financial restructuring transactions
- Portfolio Acquisition and Divestiture Services: Assisting alternative investors in the underwriting of large complex transactions
- Restructuring Valuation Services: Assisting lenders, new money providers, debtors and other stakeholders in understanding the value of stressed and distressed assets in ongoing restructuring processes
Responsibilities
Houlihan Lokey’s Financial and Valuation Advisory team is looking to hire an Associate to be based in our Tel Aviv office.
We offer a unique opportunity to work on a wealth of projects that provide exposure to various financial advisory challenges, including the valuation of complex businesses and securities. As an Associate, you will have additional accountability for development of project approach, oversight, methodologies, and analytical frameworks, and have incremental client visibility and responsibilities including business development.
- Lead the valuation of complex securities
- Assist in valuation process management from initial due diligence to delivery of the final valuation report
- Develop complex financial models and analyze financial statements, industry developments, acquisitions and divestitures, and various investment attributes of publicly traded and privately held companies
- Conduct market, industry and company analyses
- Supervise junior staff members in financial analyses and report writing
- Assist with knowledge development and technical training of junior financial staff
- Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients and prospective clients and professional advisors
- Coordinate independent research and business development tasks to build expertise in niche areas
- Assist in the marketing and planning of engagements
Requirements/Qualifications
Essential
- Fluency in verbal and written English
- 3 – 5 years of work experience at an accounting or valuation firm in a valuation capacity, or in a similar role (e.g., investment banking)
- Experience in either valuation, business modelling, leverage finance, debt capital markets, transaction advisory, corporate finance or financial restructuring teams
- Fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies and applications
- Strong undergraduate qualifications or higher in a relevant degree
- Strong analytical/quantitative and technical abilities organizational skills and attention to detail
- Significant leadership, initiative and interpersonal skills and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
- Knowledge of key databases, e.g. Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Refinitiv and other equivalent data sources, including the ability to create templates and formulas to extract necessary data in an efficient manner
- Experience in conducting transaction-related analyses and due diligence
- Understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations
- Strong quantitative, financial, research and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- An exceptionally strong work ethic
- Advanced Hebrew language skills preferred
Desirable
- Extensive experience in financial and valuation modeling, particularly DCF and OPM analyses
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of valuation concepts for fixed income securities
- Experience and proficiency in the valuation of stressed and distressed assets
- Excellent Excel skills, including the ability to automate repetitive tasks using Excel’s native syntax, and to manipulate large datasets in an efficient manner
