Description:

A Conservative Jewish non profit organization in the heart of Jerusalem seeks an experienced Director of Marketing & Communications to develop and head marcom strategy in support of the organization's ongoing growth. The Director of Marketing & Communications will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, as part of the Senior Staff of the organization.

Responsibilities:

● Marcom expertise:

o Serve as the main organizational point of contact and authority for marcom related

matters, providing guidance and support to the leadership and staff.

o Serve as the main point of contact for outsourced marketing and communications

consultants or experts that the organization chooses to engage to achieve its goals.

● Media relations:

o Establish and maintain relationships with relevant media outlets, journalists, and influencers.

o Ensure submission of listings of organization events in relevant media publications and

Websites.

● Branding:

o Oversee the process of rebranding, with the goal of developing a brand vision and strategy to improve brand awareness and the organization’s field-based positioning.

o Within the branding strategy, develop a two-pronged approach for engaging both the local Israeli market of Israeli Jewish leaders and seekers and the market of those coming from abroad that could benefit from taking part in our programs and community.

o Lead the implementation of the new branding strategy, in collaborations with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator and the CY Recruitment Coordinator, along with additional key members of the staff.

● Website:

o Oversee the process of revamping the current website to fit the new brand and strategy.

o Serve as the direct contact for all freelancers and providers to ensure that the organization’s website is up to date and running accordingly.

o Develop, create and manage content for organization’s web presence.

● Social Media:

o Strengthen the organization’s social media strategy and presence and work in collaboration with the organization’s Communications Manager to carry it out.

o Oversee relevant, original, and brand-centric social media content; manage periodic postings and foster engagement with followers.

o Manage process for co-workers to report updates that may be relevant to communicate on social platforms.

● Newsletter and Related Media:

o Oversee, manage and function as the editor for the organization’s newsletter encapsulating offerings, accomplishments and updates across the organization.

● Content Creation:

o Support writing and editing of external facing content, including thought pieces, proposals, presentations, reports and social media content. This includes both Hebrew and English content creation.

o Collaborate with organization’s and Conservative Yeshiva staff as needed to secure stories, photos, and video to enhance all digital content.

● Audience Development:

o Support the development of content, digital and media tools, and other resources to expand organization’s general and program-specific audiences, including email subscribers and social media.

● Analytics and Metrics:

o Strategize campaigns, optimize outreach and analyze results. This may include fundraising campaigns, participant recruitment campaigns, etc. Familiarity with Google analytics a priority.

o Create periodical reports from analytics of account performance on social media standings and updates.

o Establish overall metrics for success based on program engagement and registration.

● Recruitment:

o Support the organization’s recruitment staff in developing an effective participant outreach and recruitment strategy for short- and long-term as well as digital programs.

● Events:

o Oversee the marketing and publication of organization’s events, including events for the public, weekly prayer services, etc.

● Alumni Network and Fundraising

o Support fundraising and networking efforts as part of wider efforts for organizational growth and impact.

Requirements:

● 5+ years relevant experience within marketing and communications

● Proven ability to manage junior staff and work seamlessly in a senior team

● Familiarity with Jewish educational and spiritual programs / the North American Jewish community / the Conservative/Masorti eco system of organizations in Israel and the world / the local Jerusalemite Jewish educational and spiritual scene

● Fluent in verbal and written English and Hebrew

● Masterful writing and editing skills, in both English and Hebrew

● Marketing writing experience for Jewish nonprofits, educational or nonprofit programs – a plus

● Savvy with a variety of up-to-date social media platforms

● Familiarity with DIY relevant platforms for web design/development, customer relation management systems, video editing – a plus

● Experience with significant work alongside marcom related providers – web developers, graphic designers, marketing consultants, etc.

● Able to work collaboratively with an array of colleagues in the wider organization, as well as external personnel and providers

● Confidence in working with senior internal and external personnel

● A capable self-starter, able to act on their own initiative and proactively manage competing demands and pressures and to multitask effectively

● Ability to “think outside of the box,” generate and implement creative solutions

● Strong attention to detail
