Job description:
- The Yad Vashem Resource and Partnership Development Division is responsible for creating and establishing Yad Vashem's circles of support around the world, and for raising resources for Yad Vashem's ongoing activities and development. The division cultivates partnerships and develops resources in various countries around the world, through a professional team at Yad Vashem and via Friends' Associations in different countries.
- The Projects and Marketing Department is responsible for creating and managing the Division's fundraising and marketing tools. The department is responsible for transforming Yad Vashem's organization-wide work plan and capital projects into an array of fundraising and marketing tools for the fundraising teams (Desks) and Friends' Associations; preparing grant proposals for foundations and various funding sources; implementing donor recognition and preparing informative and attractive donor reports according to the designated deadlines.
- In addition, the Projects and Marketing Department is responsible for the preparation of various tools to assist the Desks and Friends Associations in donor recruitment and retention, such as creating, expanding and updating the base of fundraising projects, and producing various marketing materials on different platforms to support Yad Vashem's resource development efforts.
- The department is comprised of two sections: the Projects Section, whose team of "grant-writers" is responsible for creating and updating the projects database, writing projects and adapting them for submission to different donors, coordinating and preparing donor reports in cooperation with Yad Vashem's various units; and the Marketing Section, which is responsible for preparing a fundraising and donor retention marketing "toolbox" in various languages, utilizing appropriate media and platforms and implementing donor recognition.
- Additional division-wide responsibilities may be assigned to the Department Director as per the needs of the Division.
- Responsibilities include:
- Managing department staff:
- Preparing the departmental work plan, monitoring its implementation and prioritizing tasks within it
- Training and mentoring the department's section-heads and staff, as required
- Formulating and implementing appropriate intra- and inter-departmental work processes and procedures
- Determining standards, benchmarks and reasonable deadlines for the department's deliverables; oversight and quality control of content, such as defining writing procedures, stylistic and linguistic editing, and meeting deadlines.
Responsibility for Yad Vashem's fundraising projects database, grant/donor applications and donor reports:
- Overall responsibility for the creation and management of Yad Vashem's fundraising projects (writing new projects and regular updating of existing projects)
- Overall responsibility for writing and submitting donor reports according to the reporting schedule
- Responsibility for informing the various Yad Vashem units about new or renewed donations to their projects and updating them about donor recognition and reporting requirements: budget, content and format
- Updating the above information in the division's donor database (CRM)
- Formulating appropriate work processes and procedures
- Development and implementation of a donor-oriented marketing strategy and supporting donor retention:
- Overall responsibility for developing and implementing a marketing strategy for fundraising: crafting messages, tailoring them to suit different target audiences, developing and producing a variety of marketing tools, exploring innovative marketing and messaging channels
- Overhauling the division's sub-site ('Friends of Yad Vashem') on the Yad Vashem website: concept development and implementation and ongoing updates of all aspects of the sub-site; responsibility for developing and updating online donor recognition on the Yad Vashem website
- Development and production of materials for donor events in Israel and abroad, including fundraising dinners around the world, donor visits, donor missions, donor ceremonies, Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremonies for donors' families, designated materials for the division's guests to Yom HaShoah, special visits and more.
- Requirements:
- BA – required, MA - advantage
- Native English speaker (reading, writing and speaking), excellent Hebrew - required
- Superb management skills, minimum of 3 years of experience in managing a diverse team - required
- Excellent English writing skills
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in writing marketing copy and editing marketing content in English - required
- Education in English linguistic editing - advantage
- Analytical skills and understanding of complex organizational systems
- Team player with the ability to multitask, function well under pressure, work efficiently and meet deadlines
- Organized, highly detail oriented
- Computer literate
- Knowledge about the Holocaust - an advantage
- Proficiency in additional languages - an advantage
