Learning Specialist K-5 for Children with Special Needs

Shalom, my name is Ranai & I love teaching kids! I have a Master's Degree in Special Education and expertise in the field of Learning Differences. I work with students in grades K-5 and have 15 years of experience as a Resource/Learning Specialist at public, private, & charter schools. My New York State teaching credential is valid for instructing students with Special Education needs such as Dyslexia and ADD. I am also licensed as a SETSS provider by the Department of Education in NYC. For the past three years, I have been the Learning Specialist on staff at a Jewish Day School on the Upper West Side in Manhattan. I'm here now in Israel and available for Educational Therapy/Tutoring sessions after-school throughout the academic year as well as during the summer. My approach emphasizes phonics, it is multi-sensory (Wilson, FUNdations, Language!, MMR, etc.), and is focused around building fluency and strengthening comprehension. I cover all academic areas: Reading, Writing, & Math. Please see my website for more details:

Ms. Friedman has worked with both of my children (12YO male ADHD/Asperger's; 10YO female anxiety). She has a calming presence, and is able to elicit change very quickly. She is an excellent read of body language, and tailors her approach for each child. Both of my children welcome her interactions in an extremely positive manner, and the positive changes are clearly evident at home and school.
