ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY SCIENTIST

DeepCure is searching for a creative, resourceful, and integrative thinker for an important role in our synthesis group. As an Analytical Chemistry Scientist, you will join a team at the heart of applying our transformative Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform to discovering novel therapeutics. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing our analytical platform to support our automated synthesis lab whilst also supporting our medicinal chemistry group.You will be given the opportunity to bring novel ideas to enable the production, purification, and analysis of >5000 compounds per month to support our feedback loop with our AI platform.The position requires an ability to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and timelines. This is a unique position in which you will have a leading role in changing the way the industry approaches drug discovery.
MORE ABOUT DEEPCURE:DeepCure, founded by a team of researchers from the MIT Media Lab, develops disruptive Artificial Intelligence to revolutionize pharmaceutical discovery. Our mission is to deliver to patients safer and more effective therapeutics that are extremely unlikely to be discovered by any existing drug discovery pipeline. DeepCure redefines the way we discover new drugs by combining state-of-the-art Deep Learning algorithms with our unique database of one Trillion molecules and a unique approach to experimental data generation.
We are currently building our DeepCure Israel team, which will be based in the Rehovot Science Park, to establish and run the lab operations in our cutting-edge automated lab. The Israeli team will collaborate closely with our global team on the exciting challenges on our way to revolutionizing the drug discovery industry.

In this role you will:

• • Operate and maintain analytical equipment, conduct multiple experiments, and report experimental data.
  • Establish and maintain service contracts with appropriate entities and maintain working relationships with maintenance personnel/engineers.
  • Ensure projects are progressing on schedule and resolve issues that may affect the desired outcome.
  • Develop and implement solutions for data mining and lab automation in partnership with our machine learning and software teams.
  • Supervise/perform method development and/or optimization for the purification of compounds
  • Continuously improve productivity and efficiency through the adoption of automation
  • Support our discovery groups efforts at various CRO’s

Basic qualifications:

• • Degree in analytical chemistry, chemistry, or related field required; MS or Ph.D. preferred
  • 2+ years relevant industrial experience in analytical chemistry using various modes of chromatography (normal phase, reverse phase, UPLC, etc) and detectors (UV, CAD, MS); Pharmaceutical industrial experience a plus

Preferred qualifications:

• • Excitement about the vision and mission of DeepCure to redefine drug discovery by challenging the “normal” process
  • Track record of successfully implementing novel ideas to solve unique challenges in the lab
  • Aptitude for experimental design and problem solving using automation
  • Knowledge of other analytical techniques such as NMRA
  • Passion for staying current with the latest scientific breakthroughs and a desire to implement these in workflows
  • Worked as part of a multicultural team across time zones
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work in cross-functional teams with an emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, and communication
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and the ability to present rationale, key data, issues, and accomplishments to project teams
