The Eastern Mediterranean School is seeking a full-time experienced teacher to teach IB and IGCSE Mathematics beginning in August 2020. EMIS is an international boarding school dedicated to peace and sustainability. The student population, consisting of grades 10-12, is 20% Jewish Israeli, 20% Arab-Israeli and Palestinian, and 60% international. You will teach classes of motivated 10th and 11th  grade students from Israel and countries around the world.

Job Responsibilities:

·Plan and implement units and lessons in conjunction with the IB/IGCSE curriculum.

·Create and evaluate IB/IGCSE-aligned assessments of each student’s work.

·Teach with a focus on developing critical thinking skills of students, as well as helping them to develop inquiry and explore real-life applications of mathematics.

·Communicate regularly with peers, administrators, students, and parents.

·Differentiate instruction for the various abilities and learning styles of students in the class.

·Integrate technology into all areas of teaching practice.

·Use the school online platform to track student learning and communicate with parents and administration.

·Provide small group instruction to select groups of students on a weekly basis to support in-class learning.

Requirements:

• A relevant degree (BSc or equivalent) and professional teaching qualification in Mathematics.
• Fluency in written and spoken English to enable effective communication with students and colleagues.

·Excellent subject knowledge

·Commitment to self-development and continued learning

·At least two years of teaching experience (Preferred).

·Experience teaching IGCSE or IB (Preferred)
