Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to build our cutting edge environmental data and insights platform, that impacts the lives of millions of our users around the world. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be involved in the design, coding and maintenance a complex cloud based software systems
• Collaborate with Algorithm Engineers, Data Scientists an other Software Engineers to build highly distributed data and processing components
• Work closely with Product Managers to create the best environment data and insights delivery platform
• Be involved in shaping the technical roadmap of the backend system

REQUIREMENTS

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
• Minimum of 2-3 years of industry experience in building distributed systems and software
• Passion for building software that’s extensible, reusable and above all simple to maintain
• Deep familiarity with one of the following: Python (preferred), Scala, Ruby, PHP, Node
• Good debugging and performance optimization capabilities
• Familiarity with data persistence technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Key-Value)
• Experience in working with at least one leading public cloud platforms (GCP preferred) – big advantage!
• Familiarity with Docker and related container orchestration tools
