Johannesburg-born and Chicago-raised Gabi Katz, moved to Israel at 17. As a fighter in the IDF's Combat Engineering unit, he shared his journey though daily journals. "Alone with G-d" is the published version of daily journal entries he sent to family and friends during his service.
