Loans are available for any purpose if you have equity in a home or apartment in Israel. (The equity is the difference between what your home is worth and what you owe on your present mortgage.) An American family trust is making loans available up to $50,000 on a five-year term and with a fixed interest rate (Heter Iska). You don't have to be an immigrant or a member of AACI to qualify. Flexible credit and income qualifying. Generally, your property must be in the "greater Jerusalem area" including Modi'in, Beit Shemesh, Ramat Beit Shemesh, Efrat, Ma'ale Adumim and most Yishuv areas. The process takes about a week.
