Hometalk Inc. is a tech-oriented media company. Hometalk, acquired in 2021 by Verticalscope Inc. (fora:tsx), owns, operates, and consistently develops thirteen high-quality websites for enthusiast communities on various topics. As part of its strategy, Hometalk has developed innovative in-house monetization technologies (adtech), email building and sending capabilities, a/b testing tooling, an in-house CMS, as well as 10s of admin tools to continue to operate at the highest levels in order to serve millions of visitors daily.

Additionally, Hometalk builds and operates its in-house adtech to service 1500 sites across the Verticalscope portfolio, servicing the operations 2B ad impressions and over $30M in annual programmatic revenue.

We are looking to hire a new member to this tip-of-the-spear department that will help us continue to develop top-notch adtech and continue to grow.

In this position you will take ownership over the company’s revenue reporting and analysis and learn the business and technical intricacies of ads operations to eventually help manage our Ad operations. Your input will be pivotal at various levels: to establish and monitor the company’s KPIs, to conduct AB testing as part of our ads operations, and to help resolve technical issues related to ads.

Purpose of position

  • Lead and operate the company’s revenue reporting and analysis
  • Work with product and dev teams by providing data analysis on key initiatives and tests
  • Work with our third-party ad tech partners
  • Lead new ad tech initiatives to increase revenue

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of our revenue reporting process and ensure alignment on payment schedules
  • Handle daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reporting for management team
  • Handle A/B testing analysis for product initiative and ad tech operations
  • Assist ad operations with data analysis questions for problem-solving purposes
  • Manage our ad inventory to ensure maximum supply as well as maximum demand
  • Supervise relationships with ad partners daily

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong Excel/ Google Sheet skills
  • Native-level English (writing and speaking)
  • Analytical mind with business acumen
  • Someone organized, hardworking, detail-oriented, and who can meet deadlines
  • A teamwork spirit and appetite for personal growth
  • Knowledge of the programmatic ad world and the publishing industry (a plus)
  • Data analysis skills a plus (basic SQL)
  • A degree in Finance, Business, or Economics (a plus)
