Job description:

The Resource Development and Partnerships Department at Yad Vashem is responsible for creating and cultivating circles of support for Yad Vashem, as well as for raising funds for the ongoing activities of Yad Vashem and its development. The department works to foster partnerships and develop resources in various countries around the world through a professional team at Yad Vashem and via Friends Associations in different countries.


The Projects and Marketing Department is responsible for preparing a variety of materials and tools that will assist the fundraising desks in their activities and in maintaining contact with donors, including creating and updating a project database for fundraising, proposals, grant requests, and reports to foundations and funding bodies, as well as producing various marketing materials on a range of platforms to support the resource development activities at Yad Vashem.

The Projects Writer works with the fundraising desks within the department and liaises with the various divisions across Yad Vashem to write project proposals and adapt them to different funding bodies; continuously updates the project database; and coordinates and prepares reports for funding bodies in time to meet deadlines. The role involves extensive cooperation with all divisions and units at Yad Vashem, as well as with all the desks and units within the department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Jointly and in coordination with the division's point of contact team updating Yad Vashem's project portfolio: writing new projects and regularly updating existing ones, adapting projects and preparing 'project portfolios' for donors.
  • The projects writer will be responsible for working with various points of contact in the different Yad Vashem divisions. They need to be knowledgeable of the workplan of the division and the status of the different projects, are responsible for writing project proposals for the various projects alongside the point of contact, and adapting them in line with the requests of the various desks.
  • Collecting, organizing, and synchronizing information from various sources at Yad Vashem for the submission of requests
  • Collating information, preparing reports (alongside divisional point of contact) according to project deadlines
  • Preparing materials and reports on time as required by the funding bodies.
  • Coordinating and continually updating the multi-year list of applications and reports for funding bodies, including private donors, philanthropic foundations, government funding institutions, and more; including coordination with the fundraising desk and tracking execution of activities
  • Monitoring the input of project- and donor-related information in the CRM and updating reporting requirements and their deadlines.
  • Conducting regular synchronization meetings with the contacts in the various divisions.
  • Preparing materials according to the different requirements of the funding bodies and required data
  • Translating various documents from Hebrew to English, proofreading and linguistic editing in English.
  • Writing letters and various texts according to the department's needs


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree – mandatory
  • Native English speaker (reading, writing and speaking) – mandatory; excellent Hebrew - mandatory
  • Superb English writing and editing skills; ability to adapt to writing styles and target audiences – mandatory
  • Ability to correctly translate from Hebrew to English – mandatory
  • At least one year of experience in a related position (writing fundraising projects and reporting, working with budgets and financial reports) -- mandatory
  • Full command of Microsoft Office applications – mandatory
  • Proactive and ‘Big picture' thinking
  • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational and management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Creative
  • Detail-oriented
  • Experience working with CRM systems -- advantage
  • Knowledge about the Holocaust – advantage
  • Proficiency in additional languages – advantage

Terms of Employment:
