The strengthened advocacy efforts of the campus leaders “will shift the narrative and support Israel on a wider scale,” said Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations.
A group of 40 pro-Israel student leaders from across North America recently arrived in the Jewish state as part of an initiative to strengthen their campus advocacy skills.
The mission, sponsored by Hasbara Fellowships in partnership with IsraelAmbassadors.com, aims to train the student leaders to better understand Israel's challenges and develop the skills to advocate for Israel more effectively at their respective schools.
Danny Danon, Israel’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, welcomed the group upon their arrival and told them that “what you are all doing is crucial.”
“The issues you face on campus are real, and your resolve and your activism will no doubt create a powerful momentum in your communities that will shift the narrative and support Israel on a wider scale,” Danon said. “You are the future of our advocacy, and your commitment to truth and justice will resonate far beyond this visit.”
Alan Levine, the CEO of Hasbara Fellowships, said that the issues faced by the visiting students reflect a broader trend of increased antisemitic and anti-Israel sentiment on campuses in the United States and around the world.
“Visiting Israel, understanding the current situation and seeing firsthand the realities of the region equips students with the knowledge and perspective needed to combat these false narratives,” Levine said.
