Job Purpose
- To teach science within the framework of the IBMYP and IBDP Curricula.
- To provide professional technical support to the teaching staff in the Science Department across all Scientific disciplines (Biology, Chemistry and Physics).
General Responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to carry out all duties in the context of and in compliance with all the school policies. This includes:
- Teaching science to middle school and high school students within the International Baccalaureate programs.
- Having an excellent command of English.
- Being aware of and taking part in the school’s performance management framework, and participating in training & development activities as required.
- Participating in personal and team reviews and meetings.
- Being aware of Health & Safety Regulations relevant to the areas of work (e.g. fire regulations, IB MYP and DP program safety guidelines and requirements).
- Undertaking any other tasks as directed by the Science Coordinator commensurate with the post.
- Assisting in any administrative support for the Department and School as requested by your line manager.
In addition to the specific requirements of the post, as a member of the schools support staff the post holder will be expected to assist with other tasks of the support tasks as and when required (e.g. sports days and general school events). The post holder is expected to assist when needed, whether or not they are part of their normal duties. (e.g. trips, general duties, etc).
