“It is deeply troubling that in his first tweet in 2025, Rep. Thomas Massie continues his obsession with Israel and antisemitic tropes,” the organization wrote.

The Kentucky Jewish Council recently condemned an X post from Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), which the organization claims is just the latest in a string of anti-Israel, antisemitic content from the congressman.

“It is deeply troubling that in his first tweet in 2025, Kentucky 4th district Rep. Thomas Massie continues his obsession with Israel and antisemitic tropes,” the organization wrote on X.

Massie’s Jan. 1 post called out the recent U.S. House of Representatives rules package and its inclusion of a provision that would “impose sanctions with respect to the International Criminal Court engaged in any effort to investigate, arrest, detain or prosecute any protected person of the United States and its allies.”

“The United States is a sovereign country, so I don’t assign any credibility to decisions of the International Criminal Court,” the congressman wrote on X. “But how did a bill to protect Netanyahu make it into the House rules package to be voted on immediately after the Speaker vote? Where are our priorities?!”

In a statement included in its post, the Kentucky Jewish Council called Massie’s “obsession” with Israel a pattern.

“Massie has had a long history of offensive and antisemitic statements, tweets and votes, even when the lonely voice,” the organization wrote. “Called the Republican member of the Hamas Squad, Massie’s votes on both domestic and international issues stand out among his colleagues.”

“Hate has no home in Kentucky,” it continued. “Kentucky deserves better than Massie.”

On June 7, Massie said that “everybody” but him has an “AIPAC babysitter” when speaking to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who has also been criticized for spreading antisemitic tropes.

Massie was also the sole “nay” vote when the House passed a bill on Nov. 28, 2023, reaffirming Israel’s right to exist. He stated that the legislation equated anti-Zionism with antisemitism.

“Antisemitism is deplorable, but expanding it to include criticism of Israel is not helpful,” he wrote at the time.
