Early Childhood Director
The Early Childhood Director is responsible for the management of day-to-day operations of the school which includes hiring and onboarding teachers, mentoring through collaboration and goal setting, providing ongoing support for parents and families, maintaining a fully enrolled, developmentally appropriate, program aligned with the Ministry of Education and the CityKids educational philosophy.
Position Overview
School Management
- Leading all aspects of operating the school, including administrative duties, staffing and student enrollment/registration, general customer service, record keeping, and office management such as payroll, petty cash, student files, etc.
- Support teachers in the procedures for providing a consistently clean and healthy environment in which children can engage in a variety of activities across the day
- Manage and maintain all consumable supplies for the classroom, as well as general building supplies such as food, paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning products
- Independently initiate plans and organize work efficiently and collaboratively
Educational Support
- Mentor teachers to establish a common approach to behavior management, time management, classroom organization and appearance, planning, teaching, and learning that reflects the school’s mission and educational philosophy
- Utilize knowledge of child development, developmentally appropriate curriculum, early childhood educational standards, and current Early Childhood Education research to guide instruction
- Work collaboratively with teachers to support and maintain the organization’s mission and in line with the CityKids educational philosophy
- Meet teachers weekly to support/collaborate in terms of planning, programming, expanding on unit studies, and developing emotional support plans for children
Position Specifics
- Contract Period: December 1st, 2022-August 31st, 2024
- Hours: Full time
- Starting Salary Range: 11,000-14,000
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of five years' experience working in a school setting
- Fluent in English and Hebrew
- Ability to uphold the standards and regulations of the Ministry of Education
- Experience in hiring, mentoring and leading a team
- Knowledge and experience of developmentally appropriate practice and emergent curriculum
- Ability to interact, communicate and build relationships with parents and members of the community
- High level organizational skills
