Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Reports to: CEO

Company Description

CityKids is the premier community and education center for English speakers in Tel Aviv, designed for families with children newborn to 13 years old. We offer a wide range of services, aimed at nurturing child development and providing valuable support for parents including childcare, afterschool enrichment programs, camps and adult workshops.

Position Overview

A private network of English early childhood and community centers is looking for a VP of Operations to lead our fast-growing, dynamic organization into new communities throughout Israel.

Position Specifics

  • Start Date: Immediately
  • Hours: Full time
  • Salary Range: 18,000-22,000nis
  • Location: Office in Petah Tikva (early childhood centers currently throughout central Israel)

Role Description and Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategic Planning

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to ensure the growth and success of the organization.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the management team and staff members.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of Early Childhood Directors and administrative staff.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, providing support and professional development opportunities for staff.

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of all branches.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of each center, including staffing, program quality, and financial metrics.
  • Plan and manage center enrollment and capacity to optimize resource utilization.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report to the CEO.
  • Use data and analytics to make informed decisions and improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological advancements and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Financial Management

  • Oversee financial reporting and analysis to make informed decisions about resource allocation.
  • Monitor revenue and expenses, and implement cost-control measures.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Monitor and enforce regulatory compliance, licensing requirements, and safety standards at all centers.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain the highest level of care and education.
  • Handle any issues or concerns related to safety or program quality promptly and effectively.

Marketing and Community Engagement

  • Collaborate on marketing and outreach strategies to attract new families and retain existing clients.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, families, and the broader community.
  • Attend community events and engage in networking to promote the childcare network.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of executive leadership, strategic and operational management within an organization/company
  • Ability to develop high-performance teams
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to drive organizational growth
  • Proficiency in working within a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) framework to effectively measure and enhance outcomes
  • Manage fiscal priorities which align with the organization’s mission
  • Excellent computer literacy skills (MS Office programs, ClickUp and other applications)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bilingual (English & Hebrew) and bicultural skills desirable, but not required
