Jewish Center for Science Job Description
We are a US-based Non-Profit with the Mission: To help every Jewish child see the wisdom and kindness of Hashem found throughout creation.
We are looking for a frum man who is organized and capable of fulfilling the following tasks:
Book order fulfilment: This task includes shipping books through an online portal, sending quotes and invoices to schools via PayPal and various boards of education. Keeping track of payments made and following up when payment are not made.
Email prospecting and follow-ups: We have a list of 500+ schools in the US that could potentially use our textbooks. We need to reach out to each one of them once a year. For those schools that are not yet using our books, we will ask if they would like to see sample copies and then follow up with the contact a few weeks later to make sure the books were received and if they would like to do a Zoom meeting with Rabbi Lubin to see a demo of how the programs work and if they have any questions, they can ask me him directly. Science teachers or principals are the contacts we are looking for.
For schools that are already using our books we would like to have an annual connection to see how the programs are going and if they have heard about our new products, they may want to integrate into their curriculum development. A master excel sheet will be used so we can track which schools are and are not using our programs and which programs the existing schools are using.
This position will be the primary liaison between our organization and the secretary of the schools and potentially the principal and or science teacher for supplying them with requested materials such as links for resources, tracking shipping updates, and basic technical questions they may have about our programs (there is not that much, and we will show you them).
In addition, when reaching out to schools, the option of Rabbi Lubin doing school presentations either in person or via Zoom should be made available to the school and organizing his schedule of presentations, as well as billing the schools, keeping track of payments, and taking care of forwarded emails of customers or schools that need assistance you will be able to take care of.
Phone calls: Voice mail should be checked on a daily basis. Simple tasks such as someone needs to buy a video or wants to know where to buy a book should be taken care of by returning their call or responding by email if appropriate. If a principal or science teacher with an inquiry about the programs and phone or zoom meeting will be scheduled. If something else the message should be summarized and send via email to Rabbi Lubin for him to take care of directly or advise on what to do.
Bookkeeping: Basic bookkeeping tasks that will organize bank expenses from bank statements, credit cards, etc.… into an excel sheet that is ready for tax preparation.
Website management: Basic knowledge of WordPress website management to update website, add new products, add new articles or videos we make, and manage online store.
Additional Skills We Will Give Priority to Candidates That Have Experience In
Basic graphic design ability: Certain tasks require basic graphic design abilities. We do not need layouts done as we have graphic designers but often, we need basic templates to be filled with material on the website or for emails or printouts for schools. The applicant will have to be able to do basic graphic design tasks on a regular basis. In particular, the Wonder of the Week email will be taken and put into a template for print and/or on our website as well as other basic design tasks that may arise.
Translations: The ability to translate from English to Hebrew would be a great advantage for weekly Wonder of the Week and other projects that may come up as needed.
