The IAF also hit an Islamic Jihad cell in Gaza's Nuseirat area.

The Israeli Air Force recently carried out a precision strike targeting two senior Hamas terrorists in Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces said on Thursday morning.

Muhammad Jamil Salman Basous, a senior operative in the Gaza City Brigade's engineering unit, was involved in supplying explosives to terrorist operatives and stored explosive materials at his home. Muhammad Kamal Muhammad al-Haj, a Nukhba Force commander in the Zeitoun Battalion, was responsible for sniper attacks against IDF soldiers.

Mahmoud Jamil Salman Basous, a platoon commander in Hamas’s Shejaiya Battalion and the brother of Muhammad Jamil Salman Basous, was also killed in the strike.

Overnight Wednesday, the IAF conducted a precision strike on a vehicle containing Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists in the area of Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip, the IDF said.

"Prior to the strike, numerous steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harming civilians, including the use of precise munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence," the military added.

The Palestinian news agency Shahab reported that five journalists from Al-Quds TodayTelevision were killed in a separate attack near Al-Awda Hospital.

Al-Quds TodayTelevision is affiliated with the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization.

Earlier on Wednesday, the IDF said Israeli forces operating in the southern and central parts of the Strip destroyed underground terrorist infrastructure and killed Hamas gunmen.

Also on Wednesday, the Israeli Air Force carried out a targeted strike on a Hamas terrorist in Gaza City’s Al Furqan area.

In recent weeks, the 143rd Division’s Southern Gaza Brigade carried out a targeted raid against Hamas infrastructure in the area. Among other achievements, the division’s engineering forces, working together with the Combat Engineering Corps’ elite Yahalom unit, found and destroyed two 1.2-mile-long attack tunnels.

Combat engineers from the IDF's 401st Brigade, operating under the 162nd Division, destroyed another 1.2-mile-long tunnel in the Jabalia area last week. Hamas terrorists used the underground route as a prolonged hideout.

In another operation, the forces located and destroyed many weapons, tactical vests, Hamas uniforms and other military equipment. The brigade's troops also demolished a structure that was used to manufacture explosives.
