As more information about the horrific massacres that took place on Simchat Torah (October 7) gets out, many of us are left speechless and it seems like all we can do is cry. In the midst of our collective, national anguish, it becomes important to remind ourselves that we are not a nation who seeks retribution for the sake of revenge. For if nothing changes in our lives, then all that will happen, even if we bomb Hamas out of existence, is that our enemies will arise from somewhere else (chas v'shalom).
