Freightos.com is the world’s largest international freight marketplace and a part of the Freightos Group, the global freight booking platform, with nearly $120 million raised from investors like GE Ventures, the Singapore Exchange, and Aleph VC. It also has an incredible team of leaders with proven wins and already services the world’s largest importers, freight companies, and carriers. It’s a big deal.
We’re not the only ones excited about changing the world. You can read about Freightos in the BBC, TechCrunch, the Wall Street Journal and others.
You know what’s more fun than bringing freight online? Margaritas on the beach. You know what a close second is? Helping bring even more freight online with data-driven insights.
Where do you fit in? You’ll work with stakeholders (aka people) across the Freightos.com business unit to help crank up the volume on digital freight to epic proportions with mad number crunching, trend-tracing, and data modeling skills. Models that can walk a runway are okay, data models are exponentially better. Speaking of exponents… we’ll be looking for you to help us ex our growth, max(profitability), laser in on acquisition targeting, and take out your crystal ball every once in a while to help us set our budgets. The rest of the team will need you as a resident data guru who can support our day-to-day operations and keep freight smooth. We have questions. You have data, business, and analysis insights…which means you have answers.
Responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining predictive models with internal and external data that informs and drives our business projections
- Integrating data from various sources and deriving insights that inform our commercial strategy around topics such as lifetime value (LTV) and cost of acquisition (CAC)
- Forecasting commercial impact of various approaches to tactical and strategic projects such as revising our revenue model. Which means you’ll need to get not just numbers but also commercial impact
- Preparing annual budgets and forecasts
- The more we can plan ahead, the less we’ll wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night, sure that we’ve missed something. Which has NEVER happened, we promise. So you’ll identify risks and opportunities for growth in existing products
- Receiving and prioritizing reporting requirements from cross-functional business teams. And also know to not laugh too much when we use words like cross-functional, stakeholder, and predictive. There’s no such thing as a business analyst without a little business
- Maintaining a standardized and clean data environment for technical and business users
- Supporting data infrastructure changes as needed
- Being awesome to work with, proactive at identifying needs, and appreciative of fresh baked cookies. Heck, bring one into the office now and then!
Basic qualifications:
- 3+ years experience as a business analyst or similar
- WHERE SQL experience > years(3), including writing and navigating complex queries in SQL (don’t overanalyze that, our marketing team writes these and doesn’t really know what they are doing)
- Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau, PowerBI, DOMO
- High level of business English (written & verbal)
- An ability to see beyond numbers and charts and to translate real-world events into insights and forecasts that go beyond the scope of a mathematical model
- Great analytical and modeling skills. That =AVERAGE in Google Sheets won’t cut it
- Presentation and communication skills. You should know how to summarize your analysis in two sentences but follow that up with clear nuance that could fill an hour-long lecture
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and conditions in line with business needs
Preferred qualifications:
- BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative field
- Logistics experience
- Python experience, especially with Pandas, SciPy, NumPy, PyDomo
- Experience with Google BigQuery and Google Analytics
- News junkie
- Experience in a hi-tech environment
