Job Description: The Production Manager is responsible for executing the content roadmap, ensuring that the team creates content that is highly engaging, and meets quality standards. The PM oversees the writing team and supports the Lead Scholar in creating stunning new written, video, and audio presentations. The PM also oversees the Art Director and ensures that their projects are executed on time and on budget.

The PM supports the content team in its pursuit of the twin goals of mission and revenue. The CEO develops the content roadmap, but the PM turns it into an achievable action plan for each year, and each quarter. The PM oversees the various members of the team in hitting content deadlines, and ensuring a high quality of output.

Responsibilities

• Translate Content Vision into priorities and achievable outcomes for content team and set individual goals
• Manage all aspects of production scheduling and adjust schedule to efficiently hit deadlines
• Manage individual projects in content team ex. Book production, YouTube show, Podcasts, New video content and Curation of existing content
• Support the work of producers in their role of: identifying research ideas that would make for good content pieces, supporting a writer in framing an idea around pain-points, optimal storytelling, profound takeaways
• Support the work of editors in their role of: essentialism. Cutting away that which is not essential to produce the cleanest, clearest, best product (while weathering the pain of the content creator with empathy and sensitivity)
• Support the work of writers in their role of: clearly communicating stunning research ideas via text or podcast
• Support Podcast producers and editors in: storyboarding and editing phenomenal audio presentations
• Manage Art Director in her role of bringing content to life via beautiful video presentation that is faithful to the content and its education and engagement goals
• Oversee content writing for blogging, SEO and other marketing efforts
• Oversee and optimize book-writing and ensure timely delivery of manuscript; work with publishers in editing process
