WHAT WE OFFER
The first half of the tour we do naked eye observing of the sky, identifying constellations, bright stars and planets, learning star lore, and understanding a little bit about how the sky works. The second half of the tour we go to the telescopes (we usually set up three) to explore the best sights of the night. These vary from season to season depending on what is in the sky but might include planets like Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars, star clusters and far away galaxies, star clouds, and colorful double stars.
One-of-a-kind! Nothing else like an Astronomy Israel star tour!
Actually, we went to the
An amazing experience under really dark skies. My family won't forget it.
My three sons (ages 12-23) were totally engaged for 2 hours. Clear, highly knowledgeable, funny and accessible. Ira engages his entire audience in an educational and thoroughly entertaining way. Great with little kids, too. You can tell he loves the night sky!
I've been a follower of Astronomy Israel, for many Years, even though, I lived In Mitzpe Ramon, Excellent Charts, info etc...
Ira is funny, engaging, and is an expert when it comes to astronomy and the universe. Like he really knows his stuff! The night sky is beautiful in the desert, and Ira even helped me propose to my fiance during the tour! I would recommend the tour to others, and it's definitely a great way to spend your night in mitzpe ramon. Thank you, Ira!
I have been on the Astronomy Israel tour twice over the least 5 years and it was great both times! Ira has alot to say about the night sky and an entertaining way of saying it. The setup is also great as he provides comfortable foldout campchairs and blankets for chilly nights. I would strongly reccomend this tour to everyone from die-hard astronomy fans to anyone who has ever looked up to the night sky and wondered what the heck is going on up there. -Hersh
