Two Israelis were lightly wounded in a combined car-ramming and stabbing attack at a bus stop near the town of Shiloh in the Binyamin region of Samaria on Wednesday afternoon, medical officials said.
The Palestinian terrorist was killed on the scene by an armed civilian.
The Magen David Adom emergency medical response group said in a statement it had received a report of "two civilian youngsters who were hit by a vehicle in a car-ramming attack at the Shiloh Junction."
Medics provided treatment at the scene to the lightly injured victims, both around 20 years old, who were conscious. At least two others were treated for symptoms of anxiety following the attack, according to MDA.
The Israeli military confirmed that "a terrorist tried to run over civilians at the Shiloh Junction in the Binyamin Brigade [area of deployment], then got out of his vehicle and tried to carry out a stabbing attack."
In an earlier statement posted to social media, the IDF had claimed that the Palestinian terrorist had also opened fire at the victims, but shots were apparently only fired by the civilian who neutralized the threat.
United Hatzalah volunteer first responders Raphael Morris and Netanel Illouz said in a statement published by the organization, "We treated a 25-year-old young woman and a 15-year-old boy who were lightly injured at the scene. In addition, due to the nature of the incident and the sounds of gunfire, Hatzalah's Psycho-trauma and Crisis Response Unit provided assistance to anxiety victims at the scene."
Route 60, the main north-south highway in Judea and Samaria, was closed in both directions for about an hour following the terror attack.
On Sunday, Hamas terrorists opened fire toward the Shahak Industrial Park near the community of Shaked in northern Samaria. No casualties were reported in the attack on the industrial zone, which is located some five miles west of Jenin, a hotbed of Palestinian terrorism.
In the first six months of 2024, Judea and Samaria saw more than 500 Arab terrorist attacks each month on average, according to data made public by Hatzalah Judea and Samaria (Rescuers Without Borders).
During that period, first responders recorded 3,272 acts of terrorism in the region, including 1,868 cases of rock-throwing, 456 attacks with Molotov cocktails, 299 explosive charges and 109 shootings.
Terrorists murdered 14 people and wounded more than 155 others in Judea and Samaria between January and July, the rescue group said.
