Are you a good writer and editor?
Do you like playing with words? Are you skilled at finding new ways to present known material? Then you might be our new writer at Palestinian Media Watch!
PMW is looking for a writer with 3+ years’ experience to help us create news bulletins and reports to be disseminated to Israeli government members, Congress members, members of parliaments, journalists, the general public, and others all over the world. As part of PMW’s team of writers, you will also help write and edit PMW’s daily bulletins that go out to our tens of thousands of readers.
Most importantly, you must have an eye for detail (from typos and incorrect grammar to lack of logic and cumbersome phrasing) and be able to make often complex and controversial topics easy to read and understand.
Our research and reports can change rapidly according to real-time events in the PA and Israel, which means that our work environment can be hectic at times and requires the ability to work quickly and accurately and to be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
PMW bulletins and reports are mainly written in English; however, you will also be required to proofread translations from Hebrew into English, which requires fluency in English and Hebrew.
Qualified candidates will be asked to complete a written test, which will determine whether they will be invited for an interview.
Hours: Full–time, Sunday through Thursday, in our Jerusalem office (possibly a few hybrid days per week later).
Salary range: 10,000 – 15,000 per month depending on qualifications and experience
If this sounds like the job for you, please send your CV and a cover letter in English explaining why you want the position and why you would be a good fit. The cover letter should not be a repetition of your CV. Send to [email protected]
About PMW
Without question, PMW is a leading force in the world fighting for Israel. A non-partisan, not-for-profit organization, PMW monitors, translates, and analyzes what the Palestinian Authority’s different bodies and officials say in Arabic to Palestinians. We present our findings to members of governments around the world, journalists, academics, NGOs, and many others.
PMW is the source of all the important stories that have changed how the world views the PA. PMW was the first to expose the dangers of PA incitement and terror glorification in the many institutions it controls, including TV, newspapers, social media, schools, and sporting events. PMW uncovered the PA’s PA-for-Slay program and let the world know how the PA pays imprisoned terrorists and the families of “Martyrs” as a means of incentivizing Palestinians, even children, to attack and kill Jews. We particularly focus on the PA’s abuse of its own children who are indoctrinated to die as “Martyrs.”
