Beit Knesset Hanassi will be presenting the film IN OUR HANDS on May 16, three days before Yom Yerushalayim. This excellent, Emmy Award-nominated docudrama explains and dramatizes the Battle for Yerushalayim during the Six Day War. The movie documents the Battle in three ways: with film footage from the frontlines and of our soldiers entering the Old City and arriving at the Kotel, with highly realistic reenactments of the fighting and other critical scenes and with revealing and poignant interviews of veterans of the war—their planning, their fears, their grief over the casualties and their exaltation at the liberation of the Old City.
This movie has not received much attention or play. It is difficult to fathom why. It is a deeply moving, historically accurate and superbly produced film.
The program commences at 2:00 pm at Beit Knesset Hanassi, 24 Ussishkin Street. The film is 1¾ hours in length.
