The world has been changing, fast. Educators and their institutions simply can’t keep up. Students are getting lost in enormous classrooms, virtual content, and workloads their teachers can’t support.
Our company is building an AI platform to balance out the contradictions inherent to today’s education systems. As the Principal Engineer, you’ll be responsible for choosing and using the right tools, tech stack, and architecture to generate value for students, educators, and institutes. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is ready to take on the Principal Engineer role. You will work closely with Product and Data Science to iterate quickly, validate our solutions and create an impact on education.
Responsibilities
- Take part in the full product life-cycle: from client requirements, through planning, design, and development, to deployment and measurement.
- Work closely with data science, product managers, and solution engineers to ensure features meet client needs.
- Own engineering tasks and quality, end-to-end. Adopt CI/CD and other best practices.
- Develop a state-of-the-art full-stack application keeping up with the latest technologies.
- Architect flexible and robust systems.
- Deliver quickly and consistently.
- Build up the startup development culture with a bias for action and critical thinking.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing full-stack applications.
- 3+ years of experience with common design and architectural patterns.
- Ability to help make the best product and business decisions.
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively.
- Experience with writing clean, SOLID, robust applications.
- Experience with AWS.
- Self-learner who keeps up to date with tech stacks and methodologies.
Nice to Have
- Experience building a platform from scratch.
- Experience in a startup environment.
- Experience with backend development using Python.
- Experience with containerization and CI/CD.
- Experience with frontend development using React or other JS frameworks.
