The job is to live with a “young in spirit” 90 yr. old woman, still relatively independent, and to help her by taking on various daily responsibilities as follows. (The woman has only recently begun to need a live-in companion and helper.)
Requirements:
A caring person who is a calm, mature, sensitive and patient listener and is - at the same time - also a capable housekeeper in many ways.
Some job details: helping the woman to plan activities such as coordinating meeting with family members and friends, attend lectures, shiurim, concerts, etc., as well as helping her to keep track of events in her calendar and daily timetables, and to manage to execute these plans; helping to manage and to help the woman with all her needs and the needs of the household, such as cleanliness, shopping, preparing healthful meals, doing laundry, caring for the woman’s clothing, etc.. All must be suited to the woman, after clarification, by direct communication, despite difficulties which may arise such as hearing issues.
Partial presence during a part of the day can be worked out when necessary, though during other parts of the day and at night, the woman may require assistance and accompaniment. Flexibility can be expected but in general, clear understandings will need to be defined before a final commitment is settled, following a short trial period.
The right applicant will be fairly paid, and will have her own bedroom, free of charge, overlooking a breathtaking view of Jerusalem. (There are two bathrooms in the apartment).
If the applicant wishes to work fewer hours in the day, it’s possible to consider taking a friend as an additional employee to share the responsibilities.
