United Hatzalah of Israel is seeking a skilled and dynamic English-language Media Spokesperson to join our team. In this role, you will be the voice of our organization, shaping narratives and effectively communicating our mission to a global audience.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for English-language media inquiries.
- Draft and distribute press releases, op-eds, and other media materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets and journalists.
- Develop and execute media strategies to enhance the organization’s visibility.
- Craft compelling human-interest stories that highlight our impact.
- Write for and manage the United Hatzalah Blog, sharing stories across the organization and collaborating with other teams, including grants, social media, and updates.
- Translate Hebrew/English for subtitles and storytelling.
- Monitor media coverage and report on relevant trends.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging.
- Strengthen the media presence of C-suite executives.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, with at least three years of experience in media relations or journalism.
- Language Skills: Fluent in both English and Hebrew, with outstanding English writing skills and strong spoken proficiency in both languages.
- Writing Expertise: Proven ability to craft persuasive press releases, articles, and speeches that engage diverse audiences.
- Media Relations: Strong understanding of the media landscape in Israel and abroad, with established journalist relationships and experience in media outreach and crisis communication.
- Storytelling Ability: Skilled in conveying complex humanitarian stories in a compelling and relatable way.
- Social Media Savvy: Familiarity with social media trends and platforms, especially Twitter, with the ability to create engaging content and manage online presence.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with unconventional hours and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Team Player: Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
