Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG codes to diagnoses and procedures
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement
- Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain missing or additional documentation
- Follow up on denied or rejected claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or Medical Coder
- Proficient in ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with insurance guidelines and claim submission processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures
- Excellent communication skills to interact with healthcare providers and insurance companies
