Campus Pillar Director Job Description

Start date: Spring 2022

Location: Jerusalem-based + work-from-home hybrid model (may require occasional travel abroad and within Israel)

Mosaic United represents a joint strategic partnership between the State of Israel and global Jewry to strengthen Jewish identity and connection to Israel among the next generation of Jews around the world. Mosaic brings together established and new Jewish organizations across fields of engagement, equips them with funding and other resources, and challenges them with educational standards to expand the breadth and depth of their programming.

More than 115,000 students have strengthened their Jewish identities and connections to Israel through our tailored experience tracks and partnership with the three largest providers of Jewish life on campus around the world – Hillel International, Chabad on Campus International, and Olami.

This role will have oversight of all ongoing operations and management of the Pillar including: implementation and tracking of activities, field building, administration, fundraising and PR.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the initiative, working with all partners to implement the strategic vision and ensure the success of the Campus Pillar
  • Manage the Pillar including content, HR, legal, and operational procedures
  • Oversee financial relationships and obligations between relevant parties, and manage large-scale funds (millions)
  • Establish annual targets, workplans, and budget
  • Execute the business plan and ensure all its targets and milestones are met
  • Resource development
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with partner organizations, funders, government representatives, strategic partners, and other key stakeholders
  • Coordinate third-party audit and/or evaluation systems
  • Promote cooperation among organizations and coordinate field building activity
  • Ensure that reports and milestones are achieved as planned
  • Report to the Steering Committees, the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, and other key stakeholders
  • Support the broader Mosaic United team and other key pillar activities as part of the continuum strategy

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience managing an organization or large-scale project in the field of education / community building / social change or related
  • Excellent ability to cultivate relationships and partnerships
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish, develop, and maintain key relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong Jewish and Zionist background with knowledge about and familiarity with the Jewish world
  • Possession of a strong passion and orientation towards Jewish and Israel education and identity-building
  • Familiarity with Jewish and Israel activity on campus
  • Passionate about Mosaic United's vision and mission
  • Ability to manage high-pressure conditions and situations
  • Financial acumen with a strong ability to manage and administer budgets and produce reports
  • Demonstrated fundraising experience
  • Ability to prioritize between multiple tasks
  • Strong implementation skills
  • Strategic thinker
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressured environments
  • Possesses a strong PR / marketing / branding sensibility
  • BA degree minimum
  • Excellent English and Hebrew
  • Ability to travel overseas; willingness to work unconventional hours
  • Prior experience working with the Israeli government – a plus
  • Experience working with Salesforce – a plus
