Job Title: Billing Specialist (ABA experience preferred)

Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and experienced ABA Billing Specialist to join our team. As an ABA Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for services provided under Applied Behavior Analysis programs. Your responsibilities will include verifying insurance coverage, preparing claims, following up on outstanding accounts, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for ABA services.
  • Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance companies or other payers.
  • Monitor billing and claims processes to ensure timely submission and payment.
  • Investigate and resolve any billing discrepancies or denials.
  • Timely payment reconciliation in billing software.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, billing requirements, and regulations related to ABA services and state specific programs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries and concerns.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to ensure accurate documentation and billing practices.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on billing activities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a billing specialist in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or a related healthcare setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance billing procedures, medical terminology, and coding (CPT, ICD-10).
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and billing software (e.g., RethinkBH, Tebra).
  • Familiarity with insurance portals, electronic remittance advice (ERA) and electronic funds transfers (EFT).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word), and Adobe.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in billing and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (e.g., CPC) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM with occasional later hours as needed.
